Goth

Ça va sûrement vous surprendre (si vous ne me connaissez pas en vrai), mais au lycée, j'étais gothique. Ce qui consistait principalement à s'habiller en noir, se teindre les cheveux en noir et porter des pentacles, des croix à l'envers et un maquillage outrancier, en hurlant son amour pour Marilyn Manson. Bref. Avec le temps, je me suis intéressée aux "classiques" du genre, comme Iron Maiden ou Judas Priest, puis je suis partie vers une musique plus mélodique, comme Edguy ou Nightwish. à cette époque donc, mes créations étaient surtout basées sur la calligraphie gothique, les pentacles, les entrelacs celtiques et autres motifs tribaux. C'est spécial, mais je trouve que je me débrouillais plutôt bien, alors voilà un petit échantillonage.

Surprisingly enough (for those of you who don't know me IRL), I used to be a goth in high school - which basically meant that I was dressed in black, had my hair dyed black, and wore pentagrams, reversed crosses and too much make-up, while telling ererybody that I was desperately in love with Marilyn Manson. Then I became interested in "classical" metal, such as Iron Maiden or Judas Priest (NWOBHM forever!), and then in more melodical stuff, such as Edguy or Nightwish. Back then, my crafts were mostly based on gothic writing, pentagrams, celtic knot work and other tribal patterns. That's a bit... special, but I think I was quite good at it, so here are a few samples.

Ça aussi (et encore aujourd'hui, d'ailleurs). C'étaient de vieux CD qui ne marchaient plus... Je sais pas si on lit bien : c'est écrit "Heavy Metal".
This one too (and is still today, by the way). These were old CDs that didn't work anymore... If you can't read, it's written "Heavy Metal".


Et ça c'est un petit meuble que j'avais repeint et décoré. Sur le premier tiroir, une citation trouvée sur une pochette de CD de Type O Negative, qui signifie "Mieux vaut être haï pour ce que l'on est qu'aimé pour ce que l'on n'est pas". C'est toujours ma devise. Sur le deuxième, un entrelacs celtique. Sur le troisième, le texte d'"Imagine", de John Lennon (on a beau être gothique, on a quand même du goût... J'étais pas si désespérée que ça !). Et enfin, sur le quatrième, un motif tribal que certains reconnaîtront peut-être... C'est le tatouage de la chanteuse Zazie !!
And this was a little chest of drawers that I had painted and decorated. On the first drawer, there is a quote I found in a Type O Negative CD. It reads "Better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not" - that's still my motto. The second one is ornated with a Celtic knot work. On the third one, there is the full text of "Imagine" by John Lennon (yeah, I was'nt that desperate...). And on the fourth one, a tribal pattern, which is actually the tattoo of French singer Zazie!

J'en avais beaucoup d'autres, mais je n'arrive pas à remettre la main sur mon carnet. Si jamais je le retrouve, ça fera peut-être l'objet d'une prochaine note !
